Sol Shine

This was my family’s second time staying at Sol-Shine. The layout of the house was perfect for our group of 6 (the last time we had 8 which also worked). The teens love having their own space in the downstairs apartment and the view from the kitchen/living room cannot be beaten. Our dogs are also huge fans of both the house and its close proximity to the beach.

We loved staying at Sol Shine and spending hours on the porch listening to the waves during our March stay. Would give five stars all around other than two things...1. need a new dishwasher or a major cleaning. We hand washed everything. 2. Showers are pretty small. We managed, but someone of larger stature would probably have trouble.

This rental is exactly what was promised. Every aspect of the house is guest friendly. And we so appreciate that the owners allow us to bring dogs. We had a wonderful time on the back deck,the beach and visiting the surrounding areas. We had a few questions and David, the property manager, got back to us quickly. We recommend this house for couples or families. We give it an A plus rating!

Our family of 6 had a great time here! Great view and convenient location to so many restaurants in the area. Easy check in process - check in prior to 4 would have been ideal. House was very clean upon arrival and so many amenities provided. Only issue was a piece of plastic was left in the oven for some reason and really stunk up the house when we went to cook dinner. Overall an amazing stay!!

This was our fourth year renting Sol Shine. It is a great beach house rental for our family. It is very spacious, clean, well equipped, and perfect location. We love the easy access to the beach and the owners take very good care of the house. We are already looking forward to our 2024 vacation there. Carolina Beach is a wonderful beach town...we always enjoy Thursday night fireworks, lots of restaurants for takeouts, nearby grocery stores, enough parking for our 3 cars, and lots of outside seating inside and on the deck. We had no need to contact the management company this year but in years past A1 has been quickly responsive if we had an issue.

We had a great week at Sol Shine - a very clean, well-maintained, updated oceanfront beach house with lots of space for our family of nine (seven humans, two dogs.) Fantastic ocean view from the large front deck, easy access to beach from house's walkway. Large, well-equipped kitchen, new washer and dryer. Short walk to the Ocean Grill& Tiki Bar, Veggie Wagon and other eateries. The only downside is the narrow spiral, staircase connecting the upstairs and downstairs, and close proximity to the house next door whose occupants blasted Lynyrd Skynyrd all hours of the night during our stay.

Our family loved our stay at this beach house. You can't beat the location - it has direct access to the beach, has several good restaurants across the street, and is within walking distance from the Carolina Beach boardwalk.

We also appreciated the thoughtfulness in making it safe for smaller kids - it's not babyproof but incredibly safe for our curious toddler.

Oh, and the Internet was blazingly fast. I had to work on vacation and had no issues using a virtual machine through my laptop, which is rarely possible on hotel or typical Airbnb WiFi.

Very nice place, great visit with family and friends, easy check in process with directions provided, mother nature was an issue but back porch and view made up for it...we will be back!

A beautiful location that overlooks the ocean was spectacular. The accommodations were very good.

We had a wonderful time at this rental! The rental was clean and comfortable with easy access to the beach. We spent most of our time at the beach but did take a ferry to Southport for the day. We mainly cooked breakfast but the kitchen seemed well stocked with pots, pans and dishes. We enjoyed Havana’s, the Ocean Grill, the Peach Cobbler and the Pirates Cove all very close to the rental. Oh, and I can’t forget the ice cream shop directly across the street. My Grandchildren loved it! Okay, me too. We would definitely recommend the rental and hope to plan another trip soon!

The house is nice and clean. It is well supplied and everything is in working order. The location is perfect. We’ve rented this house for the past 2 years and next year will be our third. No complaints from our family of 6. Plenty of room for everyone.

This house was just right for our multiple family vacation. The kitchen is well stocked with serving pieces and the linen package was better than expected. Loved the beach access and proximity to the Tiki bar. We could easily see the Fireworks from the beach. And ice cream just across the street!

Home was very clean. Nice private access to the beach. Beautiful glass sliding doors in the front to see the ocean. Basement bedroom/suite nice but you feel like you’re isolated from the rest of the house. And the stairs going to the basement are very small.

The house is perfect location privacy and amenities. It is beautifully decorated very comfortable and has everything that you will need for an awesome week at the beach. We were here in November and it was so great because there was barely anybody out on the beach so we felt like we had it all to ourselves. Such a relaxing week! Would definitely rent again!

We enjoyed our vacation and made many wonderful memories with our family. The view of the sunrise was spectacular. The house and location was as described and the host was helpful and quick to respond to our questions. Thank you for a great vacation.

Our family had another wonderful week at SolShine this year! We really loved the newly remodeled kitchen with large dining island, new cabinetry and countertops, as well as the wall removal between kitchen and family room! That made the fantastic ocean view even better with the large sets of double glass sliding doors across the entire upper back of home! Also, the addition of the large built in shelves next to dining room gave us plenty of room for all of our food items!
The house was very clean and is well stocked and tastefully decorated and very convenient to the beach with its own private walkway off of upper deck!
We had 7 adults and really enjoyed sitting on the covered deck watching and listening to the ocean waves! The only thing we wish it had was a larger deck table to pull chairs around for evening dining outside and 2 additional comfortable upholstered chairs in family room along with the sofa and 2 chairs it has now.

Overall, it is a great beach house and close to dining, shopping and grocery store!

This was our second year renting Sol Shine. It is the best beach house we’ve rented in our 4 years of vacationing in Carolina Beach. The house is very clean, well stocked, and well maintained. The beds were all made when we checked in. It is in a perfect location and large enough to comfortably fit our family of 6 with two children. We are looking forward to our 2022 visit to Sol Shine. A1 Management is great to deal with from the time you make a reservation to checkout. We had two minor maintenance issues and they were extremely responsive. Thank you all for a fantastic 2021 beach vacation.

The house was very spacious with amazing views. Being that close to the beach made it easy with the kids. Sol shine is well maintained and thoroughly cleaned. Our families had an amazing time and hope to come back next year.

This was a nice house in an excellent location. Beds were very nice and kitchen well equipped. Having an outside shower was a real plus. The only drawback was this is a house that can sleep 12 people but only has seating in the living room for 5!

The location was perfect, even with a ice cream shop across the street. Most of the necessities were already there, so we definitely overpacked. It was hard to find storage space to put things because we had so much stuff with us. Overall, a great experience and we enjoyed our time there. Thank you!

Sol Shine is clean, cozy & well-stocked. Beds & couches were comfortable & we loved the covered deck & location of the property....close to food, ferry, aquarium, lake park, state park & awesome beaches! Also has a delicious ice cream hut across the road! We highly recommend Sol Shine!
One comment: Screens on all windows & doors would be nice for those dry, breezy days/nights where you could turn the A/C off & just listen to the waves!

Great beach house rental for 1-2 families! The view you wake up to every day is amazing and easy access to the beach. The property management company is outstanding with their communication. We would definitely go back and we hope to do so at some point when it is a little bit warmer. Highly recommend this beach house.

This is the 2nd time we rented with A1 properties and I have booked another rental with them for TX 2021. The house was in a great location. Most days were nice so we spent a lot of time on the deck overlooking the ocean. good view from living room on bad days. Enjoyed well lit space under deck for grilling in the evenings. Convenient to walk the dogs except for awful burrs that got in the paws but that will happen anywhere where there is grass. Next year I will trim the fur around their little paws to help prevent catching the burrs.Easy walking to some great little sandwich shops,coffee shops and gourmet Milk Shakes/ice cream which the kids loved. Chocolate caramel voted the favorite salted caramel 2nd. (They had pandemic -user- friendly - service) We got lucky had privacy. The motel nx door was closed and no one in house nx to us. This house was unique it has alot of space around the house that it has a private space even if people were there. lots of space for our 6 bikes and cars. Not sure what it would be like if motel was open but their beach access was far from ours so that would help with social distancing.I would rent Sol Shine again!! Highly recommend A1 properties. The staff are quick to respond and help solve problems and answer questions. We left our fishing gear which they generously had mailed back to us.

The dryer was a four prong standard plug and made it very easy to use with our Tesla Mobile Charger. We were able to top off the battery any time we weren't drying clothes. Look forward to renting again in the future.

We had a great week with our 3 adult children and our dog at Sol Shine! Perfect oceanfront location and we loved listening to the ocean on the covered back deck! The house was very clean and spacious with 2 large sets of glass sliding doors across the back of the house overlooking the ocean. It was so nice having your own private walkway from the deck to the beach which made it so convenient! The outdoor shower stall on the top deck was also ideal for an extra shower. The separate downstairs living space was private and perfect for our daughter and son-in-law with their baby. The kitchen was well stocked and the TVs and internet worked great! The only thing we felt that the kitchen needed was a shelf unit like the stainless one downstairs to put in the corner by the back door. That would be perfect to put food items on after going to the grocery store, since all cabinets and pantry closet had dishes etc in them. We did love our stay there and will definitely return again!

My family and our dog Luna thoroughly enjoyed our beach vacation. The house is very spacious and clean. The whole front side of the house has doors that open completely up and you can hear the ocean. The walk outside is extremely easy to the beach. If you have a dog you may want to bring a portable gate so that they can run around outside. The downstairs is completely separate from the up stairs and well equipped if you have a family member that wants a little bit more privacy. We put my teenager and his friends down there and it was perfect for them because the couch folded into a Queen size bed as well. Every room had a TV and roku which was great. Wifi worked well. Kitchen had everything you need. The outdoor shower w hot water was incredible! The house has several beach chairs that you can use. There is an ice cream and food shop directly behind the house which we loved and the tiki bar is within walking distance too. The boardwalk is a very short walk as well. We highly recommend this place and will definitely return.

This house was so very clean! We enjoyed the house and the view. I would recommend taking that tree out of the view of the ocean. Would have enjoyed king size beds also. We really did have a wonderful time though.

We very much enjoyed our stay , being local residents we knew all the Wilmington attractions to visit with our guests on those few wet cold days we had at the beginning of our stay .
