Thus rental was amazing and perfect for our family! Close enough to the beach to hear the waves from the deck, but far enough to not be in the hustle and bustle of traffic. Definitely a great place for any large family with children and dogs. We are adding it to our favorites list to come back!

What a wonderful time we had! Thank you for sharing your beautiful (and fun) home. It was so convenient to the great places we visited. On our first night here, we watched the gorgeous sunset at Fort Fisher as it stretched its pink fingers across the Intracoastal. Later, Kristen at Bud & Joe's made delicious drinks for us. The next morning, we learned about the origins of the Ocean View restaurant over an amazing breakfast. That afternoon, the dogs did not mind the chilly water and loved swimming in the ocean by the pier. Later, we found your kitchen very well supplied for a yummy spaghetti dinner. And afterwards, your living room gave us a cozy place to watch movies.We could not have asked for a better time!

We decided last minute on a beach vacation August 6th. We searched rentals up and down the coast looking for a place that would accommodate seven guests and a dog. We came across the listing for Happy Honu with four pictures, no reviews and booked it. We were a little anxious but very happy and relieved when we arrived from PA. There was plenty of room for all-grandparents, parents, two kids (four and eight) and their aunt. The house is on a quiet street with almost no traffic. To get to the beach we walked by one house, turned and had a view of the ocean. Then just a couple minutes walk before crossing the busier beach road to the parking area and walkway to the sand. The fishing pier is close by. In the garage were bicycles, a beach wagon, chairs and games all in excellent condition. The kitchen had everything we could want for meal prep plus soaps, bags, foil, etc. Great appliances. Two coffee pots, one with a built in bean grinder. Nice, comfortable beds/furniture. Everything seemed rather new and very clean. Hairdryers in the bathrooms. A favorite spot was the screened-in porch. A convenience store was a short walk. We drove to Carolina Beach for groceries and shops. And in the opposite direction for crabbing/fishing at the National Guard/Air Force Center and the Fort Fisher State Park area. My first time at Kure Beach-we had a wonderful week staying at Happy Honu.

We stayed for a week and had a great time in this house! It was super clean, had a very well supplied kitchen, and included tons of beach toys, chairs, and boogie boards. The rooms were spacious and had thoughtful layouts that gave everyone a great stay.

This is a beautifully maintained home. Easy access to the beach and local restaurants. We throughly enjoyed our stay.

Very cute home that was more than sufficient for our family. I would only add that a higher quality grill would be a nice addition.

My family was down over Memorial Day for my nieces wedding , 7 adults and kids , so much room for everyone. Loved the screen in porch area. That my was favorite relaxing place and listening to waves at night. The bikes and beach chairs and wagon were a plus.
Location was great .. just a couple of blocks to beach.
I live mt Tennessee Mountains but I Definitely will be back again for some relaxation!

This is our 3rd year staying here and it is the best. Great location, the house is amazing and so relaxing. Always clean and host is easy to reach. Can't wait to book our trip for next year.

The rental process was smooth and hassle free. House was ready at 4:00 and clean and well stocked. Recommendations for things to do at Kure Beach were appreciated and spot-on!!

We had a group of 9 and thoroughly enjoyed our long weekend at Easter! Home was spotless and we loved the decor, screened in porch, and the fact that we were within easy walking distance to the beach and great restaurants! Will definitely book with A1 again.

It has all the amenities you need for a large family with dogs. It is close enough to the beach to walk, and far enough away to avoid the busy traffic. Perfectly situated within a few blocks to a nice park and disc golf area. Very quiet neighborhood!! Would stay again and again.

Spiders in the bottom level bedroom ( there were quite a
Few and alot of spider webs beside the bottom full sized bunk bed against the corner and wall area and we had to kill a bunch of them while there ). It wasn’t an emergency by any means but I wanted them to know so they could spray to prevent other kiddos from being as freaked out by the spiders as my teens were. He thanked me
for letting him know and will send the pest control out there to spray. What more could be expected of the manager. I consider that great customer service.

Happy Honu was the perfect house for our family vacation! Plenty of room for three couples, two boys, and one baby. The house was well-stocked - not only the kitchen but games, puzzles, books, bicycles, and beach toys! The property manager was very responsive to needs. The only thing this house needs is access to the fenced-in backyard and a beach view...

The home is beautiful and spacious with plenty of room for all of our family. A very quick walk to the pier or beach and an equally short walk to the park, a nice alternative to the beach if the weather isn’t ideal for tanning or swimming. Would definitely recommend this place and stay again!

We had an excellent experience staying at this home. The was equipped with everything you and clean! We loved having access to the golf cart, beach equipment and bikes. Also having a garage is gonna be a must have.

This house was really great for our extended family of 7 with a few beds to spare, especially b/c it came with three full baths and an outdoor shower (with warm water). The space was ideal for cooking as a group, eating, playing games (lots of games to choose from) and visiting Wilmington and other areas of interest. We enjoyed biking around town, walking the pier (there's a pelican that comes to get dinner each night straight out of the hands of the fisherman whose catch is too small to keep), walking the boardwalk, shopping at the artisan market by the pier and the various restaurants to choose from. Not that they are a guarantee but there were several beach chairs, wagon, boogie boards and other water toys for people to use in the garage. We did not rent the golf court so we walked easily to the beach with the wagon and biked around for fun.

We had two issues that needed to be attended by the property management and they were both handled really quickly. One was even on Friday just as they were closing.

The two things to keep in mind if you book Happy Honu -- there are a lot of flies around (likely the entire area), so keep garbage can lids closed (they get a citation and don't pick up your trash apparently) and outdoor food picked up quickly. The second is that the showers definitely do not allow for two people to shower at once without it affecting the water, so stagger showers.

This was a great vacation!! The house was super cute, clean, and within walking distance to the beach!

We absolutely loved our stay at Happy Honu! The house has a very cool California surfer vibe. It is spacious and well-appointed, with an overall ambiance that was inviting and relaxing. With a fully equipped kitchen, a grill in the backyard, and a nearby fish market, we had everything we needed to make some amazing seafood dinners for our family.

The real gem of the house might be the screen porch with its inviting day bed -- great for reading and having morning coffee, taking an afternoon nap while enjoying the sea breeze and sound of ocean waves, or serving up some evening cocktails.

We love that we were able to bring our dog with us. The fenced in backyard made it super easy and secure to have her there. While many NC beaches do not allow dogs on the beach during the summer, Kure Beach's new policy of allowing dogs on the beach before 9 am and after 5 pm was a fantastic was awesome to be able to take our dog for early morning and early evening walks on the beach.

The large outdoor shower at the house is another great amenity. There is just an indescribable allure to an invigorating outdoor shower after a day on the beach! It also made it super easy to get our dog squeaky clean after playing on the beach.

The beach is just a short walk from the house. It is beautiful and wide which makes it great for long walks. Beyond the beach, there were plenty of other activities to enjoy. We embarked on a couple of hikes during our stay. The Basin Trail at Fort Fisher was especially beautiful, as were the trails at Carolina Beach State Park.

We took advantage of the golf cart add on, which made exploring the area even more fun! Whether we were checking out different sunset spots, navigating over to the pier and boardwalk (which is super cool!), checking out restaurants/bars, it made getting around a fun adventure.

We stayed at Happy Honu for four nights when we attended a wedding in town. The house and especially the kitchen was very well equipped, and the beach and most important locations was within walking distance from the house. Even if you couldn't see the ocean from the house, you could hear the waves crashing and the beach was only about 5 minutes walking distance from the house. Everything was as described in the house and the property was well maintained and cleaned. Will definitely be our choice if we need to rent a place for seven people in the future.

We visited Kure Beach for a wedding, and we were four parties and seven persons. The Happy Honu was the perfect fit as each party had their own bedroom and only two had to share a bathroom. The kitchen was amazing and very well equipped. The screened deck was a favorite place, and it was great to enjoy your morning coffee on the deck when the sun was rising. Close (walking distance) to everything in KB. The house was clean and in very good condition.

We spent three weeks at Happy Honu this past month. Exactly as promised, clean, comfy, and well equipped. We were able to cook in most nights. A 3-5 minute walk to the beach.

Perfect for a family vacation and walking distance to the beach. Fenced in backyard for fur baby was just an added bonus to this rental.
