Paid Parking Schedule

Paid parking in Carolina Beach typically runs March 15 through September 30, from 8 AM to 6 PM daily.

Current Rates

  • $6 per hour
  • $25 per day
  • $125 per week

Always confirm posted signage, as rates and dates may change.

Freeman Park (4x4 Beach)

  • Required: 4x4 access passes are required year-round.
  • Daily Pass: $50 (April–Sept) | $30 (Oct–March).
  • Annual Pass: $225 (discounted to $110 if bought in person during December).

Golf Cart Requirements

Golf carts and low-speed vehicles are permitted on Pleasure Island when operated safely and legally.

  • Driver must be 16+ with a valid license
  • Allowed only on roads 35 MPH or less
  • Seat belts required
  • Must have proper safety equipment
  • All standard traffic laws apply
  • Failure to follow local regulations may result in fines.

Golf carts can be rented from SunFun Rentals or from Icon Superstore Golf Cart Rentals in Carolina Beach.

Paid Parking Schedule

  • Enforcement Period: March 15 – September 30.
  •  Hours: 8 AM – 6 PM daily.

Current Rates

  • Hourly: $6/hour.
  • Daily: $25/day.
  • Weekly Pass: $125.
  • Full Season Pass: $225.

 Fort Fisher State Recreation Area 

  • Offers a large free public lot at the Visitor Center, though it fills up very early in the summer.

  • All golf carts must be street legal and driven by a licensed individual.  
  • Only electric carts are allowed in Kure Beach.
